Inspirational Ceremonies

Ceremonies and celebrations mark important times in our lives. I will work with you to create a ceremony that recognizes and celebrates your occasion in the way that you wish.

Humanist Ceremonies

My name is Debra Jessett and I set up Inspirational Ceremonies to inspire people to create meaningful ceremonies that recognise and celebrate key times in their lives.

I provide Humanist Ceremonies in Cumbria, Lancashire and Yorkshire.  This includes Weddings, Funerals, Vow Renewal and Namings.  I will also consider requests to travel further afield, including overseas, on an individual basis.

My experience…

I am a trained and accredited humanist celebrant with the Humanists UK and have 11 years experience of conducting humanist ceremonies.  As well as being a keen walker, I hold a Summer Mountain Leadership Award and have conducted ceremonies in a variety of outdoor settings.  I also have 30 years experience of working with families and organising events.

The service I provide…

My service includes an initial meeting with you to design your ceremony, writing your script and delivering your ceremony on the day. During the planning process, I will provide you with a variety of resources, including example scripts and my collection of readings and poems.  If I am conducting a wedding ceremony for you I will also provide a rehearsal, leading up to your special day.

If you would prefer someone else to deliver your ceremony, but need help with the content, I also offer a script-only-service.

A bit about me…

I was drawn to live in Cumbria 27 years ago through my love of the outdoors.  Since then I have had a varied career working in the voluntary sector and running my own business.  As well as being a busy celebrant, I currently work as a consultant offering my training, coaching and fundraising expertise.

I live in Kendal with my family and love spending time in the outdoors.  I enjoy walking, camping, cycling, and canoeing.  When I was in my early 20s I completed a year-long trip around the world.  I am now enjoying exploring closer to home, both in this country and in Europe.

My Values…

I believe in…

Putting people at the heart of what I do – I will work with you to create your unique ceremony.

Working with creativity and imagination – I am always open to new ideas and like working in different settings.

Going that extra mile to provide a personal service – I will dedicate time to get to know you.

Providing ceremonies inclusive to all – I will deliver your ceremony how and where you want.

What’s important to me…

I believe in…

Caring for our natural world – I love being in the countryside and taking time to appreciate the view.

Making a contribution to my community – I like being able to use my skills and experience to bring out the best in people.

Appreciating the simple stuff – I enjoy baking, singing, being with friends and walking my dog.

Dreaming about the big stuff – I am looking forward to sharing more adventures with my family.
