Inspirational Ceremonies

Ceremonies and celebrations mark important times in our lives. I will work with you to create a ceremony that recognizes and celebrates your occasion in the way that you wish.

Non religious ceremonies

My name is Debra Jessett and I set up Inspirational Ceremonies to inspire people to create meaningful and memorable ceremonies that recognise and celebrate key times in their lives.

I provide Humanist Weddings, Funerals, Vow Renewal and Naming Ceremonies throughout the North West of England but I am also happy to travel further afield on request.

My Values…

I believe in putting people at the heart of what I do – I will work alongside you to create your unique ceremony

I believe that one size doesn’t fit all – I will work with creativity, flexibility and imagination

I believe in going that extra mile to provide a personal service – I will dedicate time to get to know you

I believe in providing ceremonies inclusive to all – I will use my skills and experience to deliver you ceremony how and where you want

My experience…

I am a trained and accredited humanist celebrant with the Humanists UK and have 11 years experience of conducting ceremonies. As a keen walker I also hold a Summer Mountain Leadership Award and have conducted ceremonies in a wide variety of venues, including many different settings in the outdoors. I have over thirty years of experience of working with families and organising events.

The service I provide…

My service includes an initial meeting with you to design your ceremony, the preparation and writing of your script and then finally delivering your ceremony on the day. During the planning process I provide a wide variety of resources, including examples of scripts and my collection of readings and poems. A rehearsal is also included for Wedding Ceremonies.

A script-only service is also available if you would prefer a family member or friend to deliver your ceremony but would like help with the content.

A bit about me…

I was drawn to live in Cumbria 27 years ago and worked at two outdoor centres before leading a community project supporting families with children with special needs. Currently, as well as being a busy celebrant, I do some work in the voluntary sector on a freelance basis, offering my training, coaching and fundraising expertise.

I live in Kendal with my family and love spending time in the outdoors walking, camping, cycling and canoeing. Travel is also a passion of mine, and after completing a year long trip around the world in my 20s, I am now enjoying discovering Europe.

What’s important to me…

I believe in caring for our natural world – I love immersing myself in the countryside and taking time to appreciate the view

I believe in making a contribution to my community – I like being able to use my skills and experience to bring out the best in people

I believe in appreciating the simple stuff – I enjoy baking, singing, being with friends and walking my dog

I believe in dreaming about the big stuff – I look forward to more happy times sharing adventures with my family
