We were very pleased with the ceremony – it was lovely. Lots of our family & friends commented on how personal it was. I have been meaning to get in touch to say thanks! Love Sarah

Leo - Naming Ceremony

quote_leo

What made you want a naming ceremony/humanist ceremony to celebrate the arrival of your baby?

We wanted to celebrate the birth of Leo in a special way. It was a great opportunity to bring family and friends together for a happy event to wish us well as we started family life. We felt it was particularly important as Leo had arrived so early and his first few weeks had been a bit traumatic - we hadn’t been able to celebrate the birth of a new baby in the normal way. As we had a civil ceremony 5 years ago, we wanted to have a similar non-religious ceremony for Leo. We looked at the option of a registrar, but felt that a humanist ceremony was much more personal and would better express our love, hopes and dreams for Leo.

What did your guests say about your ceremony?

Our guests were surprised and delighted at the ceremony. Nearly everyone commented how lovely it was, so nice and personal. A few friends said they wished they had done that rather than the standard christening for their children!

I think people didn’t really know what to expect but thoroughly enjoyed it. We were very pleased with how you took the ceremony. It was just what we wanted and we had a very special day.

What will you remember most from your ceremony?

Having all our family and friends together was the most memorable thing. Also, making the vows to Leo.

Any general comments about my service?

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us and to get everything just right. We were very impressed with the process from first meeting you to the ceremony. If we have more children we will most certainly be calling again – maybe on a smaller scale next time!
