Inspirational Ceremonies

Ceremonies and celebrations mark important times in our lives. I will work with you to create a ceremony that recognizes and celebrates your occasion in the way that you wish.

Humanist Ceremonies

My name is Debra Jessett and I set up Inspirational Ceremonies to create non-religious ceremonies that are meaningful and enable people to celebrate important times in their lives.

I provide Humanist Weddings, Funerals, Vow Renewal and Namings throughout Cumbria, Lancashire and Yorkshire.  However, I will also consider individual requests to travel further afield, including overseas.

My experience…

I am an accredited celebrant with the Humanists UK and have 12 years’ experience of conducting humanist ceremonies.  As well as being a keen walker, I hold a Summer Mountain Leadership Award and have conducted humanist ceremonies in a variety of outdoor settings.  I also have 30 years’ experience of working with families and organising events.

The service I provide…

This includes an initial meeting to design your ceremony, writing your script and then delivering your ceremony on the day. During the planning process, I will provide you with a variety of resources, including example scripts and my collection of readings and poems.  If I am conducting a wedding ceremony for you I will also provide a rehearsal, leading up to your special day.

If you would prefer someone else to deliver your ceremony, but need help with the content, I also offer a script-only-service.

A bit about me…

I was drawn to live in Cumbria 28 years ago through my love of the outdoors.  Since then I have had a varied career working in the voluntary sector and running my own business.  As well as being a busy celebrant, I currently work as a consultant offering my training, coaching and fundraising expertise.

I live in Kendal with my family and my dog, Harmony, and love spending time in the outdoors.  I particularly enjoy walking on the fells, as well as camping, cycling, and canoeing.  When I was in my early 20s, I completed a year-long trip around the world.  I am now enjoying exploring closer to home with my family and am currently discovering the delights of Europe.

What I particularly like about my role as a humanist celebrant is meeting new people and finding out what is important to them in their lives. I will work closely with you to design your own personal ceremony which enables you to celebrate your occasion in the way that you wish.

I look forward to hearing from you

Debra
