Vow Renewal
Your Vow Renewal Ceremony will be designed with you, for you, expressing your life, your love and your hopes for the future.
You choose the words, readings and music so that your ceremony reflects your individuality and uniqueness as a couple.
Your Vow Renewal Ceremony can be an intimate occasion with a small number of family and friends or part of a large celebration. It can be as formal or informal as you would like.
You can hold your Vow Renewal Ceremony where you wish. It can be an indoor or outdoor location of your choice. At a hotel or a village hall, in your home or garden, or at a special beauty spot. It is up to you!
What is a Vow Renewal?
A Vow Renewal Ceremony is appropriate for any married couple wishing to renew their wedding vows. There are many different reasons why couples choose to celebrate their marriage…
Special times…
Many couples decide that they would like to renew their vows as part of a special wedding anniversary. It is a special way of acknowledging the time you have had together and your continued commitment for the future.
If you have been married abroad, a Vow Renewal Ceremony enables you to share a celebration at home with family and friends.
Difficult times…
If you have been through a difficult time, such as dealing with illness, renewing your wedding vows can be particularly meaningful. It can help you to look to the future and celebrate the good things that you share as well as being a means of reconciliation.
A different time…
Perhaps, for some reason, you did not originally celebrate your marriage in the way you would have liked. A Vow Renewal Ceremony gives you another chance to celebrate your marriage and life together. Also, if you have been married for some time you may decide that you are now in a more realistic position to declare personal commitments to each other.
Your Vow Renewal Ceremony…
There is no set format that you have to follow. I will spend time getting to know you so that I can write a personal ceremony which reflects what is important to you in celebrating your marriage.
For most couples, re-exchanging vows and rings are a key part of the ceremony. I encourage couples to write their own wedding vows as it gives you the opportunity to make promises that are personal to you. However, I do have a selection of commitments that you can choose from and I can also help you write your own vows.
You can make your celebration memorable by involving children and grandchildren, or guests who were at your wedding.
Personalising your ceremony…
You can personalise your Vow Renewal Ceremony by including poems, readings and music. Other ideas include: signing a certificate or special picture, lighting a unity candle or making a wish tree.
As part of my service, I will share with you a resource file. This includes a huge collection of poems and readings, ideas for personalising your ceremony and sample scripts. I can also help you write your own vows and have notes and examples to provide some inspiration!
A Vow Renewal with a difference…
If your dream is to hold a ceremony outdoors surrounded by beautiful countryside then look no further. I hold a Summer Mountain Leadership Award and have experience of leading groups on the local fells.
I have conducted ceremonies in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor settings. This has included many local hotels as well as family homes and gardens.
My fees…
The fee that I charge for a Vow Renewal Ceremony is between £250 and £450 with any mileage charged on top. I will provide you with an accurate quote once I have further details of your ceremony and ask you to pay a deposit of £100 to secure your date. The balance is then due a month before your ceremony. My fee reflects my experience and the time I will put into creating and delivering a personal ceremony which enables you to celebrate your marriage in the way that you wish.
