Delila’s Naming Ceremony Cumbria
Victoria and Alex chose to hold Delila’s Naming Ceremony close to their home at a private hotel. They celebrated their son, Aaron’s arrival a couple of years earlier and wanted a similar celebration for their daughter.
It was wonderful to be able to recognise both of their children in Delila’s ceremony and talk about family life.
Extract from Delila’s Ceremony:
‘Victoria and Alex – thank you for inviting me to celebrate Delila’s arrival with you. It is lovely to be back after conducting Aaron’s Naming Ceremony nearly two years ago and to see how your family has grown.
Time has certainly flown by since then. When I last saw Aaron he was a year old and just walking; now he is nearly three, running around and talking and has become a big brother.’
Some feedback from Victoria and Alex:
What made you want a Humanist Naming Ceremony to celebrate the arrival of your baby?
We chose a naming ceremony for our daughter because we wanted the same type of ceremony that we had for our son. The appeal of a naming ceremony was, the fact that we could celebrate the birth of our children without the constraints of a religious ceremony. This made the day extra special as every last detail was personal and it was solely about the celebration of our daughter.
How and where did you find out about Inspirational Ceremonies?
We chose the same celebrant as for our son, as Debra delivered such a lovely ceremony for our son the first time. This allowed her to write a touching ceremony for our daughter, as she knew the family and was able to incorporate this into our daughter’s ceremony.
Any general comments about my service? Any improvements?
We couldn’t have had anyone else deliver the ceremony for our daughter. You are professional, yet very personal. We could not have been happier with the beautiful ceremonies that you have written for our children. Aaron’s naming day was a lot to live up to, but the ceremony was equally as special and moving. Thank you.
